Getting started with Oktio

Set up your account, understand your Instagram analytics, share media kits and reports, run your brand-outreach CRM — and connect Oktio to Claude with the MCP connector.

Introduction

Oktio is a platform for Instagram creators. It connects to your Instagram Business or Creator account and turns your profile into professional analytics, a shareable media kit, campaign reports and a brand-outreach CRM — everything you need to understand your performance and win collaborations, in one place.

You can work with Oktio in the app, and — on Oktio Pro — connect it to Claude with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) so you can ask questions and take actions using your real Oktio data.

What you can do

  • Understand your performance with analytics and Smart Insights.
  • Build a professional media kit and share it on a public link.
  • Create campaign performance reports for brands.
  • Manage brand outreach with a pipeline, rate card and sponsored tracker.
  • Connect Oktio to Claude via MCP.
  • Export your Instagram data to your own data warehouse or storage — BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage or Amazon S3.

Getting started

Getting set up takes a minute — you sign in with Instagram and Oktio imports your data.

Oktio requires an Instagram Business or Creator account. Instagram's insights API does not provide analytics for personal accounts, so you'll need to switch to Business or Creator (free) in the Instagram app first.

Open the app. Head to Oktio and choose to sign in with Instagram.

Sign in with Instagram. You'll authenticate through Instagram's official login and approve the permissions Oktio requests.

Oktio imports your data. Your profile, content and insights are pulled in, and your dashboard is ready.

What gets imported

  • Your posts and reels.
  • Insights such as reach and engagement, where Instagram makes them available.
  • Audience demographics — age, gender and location.
  • Your basic profile info and follower count.

Oktio only requests the permissions it needs, and you can disconnect at any time.

Analytics

Once you're connected, your dashboard brings your numbers together and explains them in plain language. Each figure is shown with a benchmark for creators your size, so something like your engagement rate is put in context, not just displayed.

Dashboard widgets

Your dashboard is built from focused, purpose-built widgets. Everything listed here is available on the Free plan.

  • Daily Brief — a plain-language summary of what changed on your account since you last checked in.
  • KPI Summary — followers, average reach, average interactions, engagement rate and your audience gender split, at a glance.
  • Period selector — switch every widget between a 7-, 30- or 90-day window.
  • Follower Growth — your follower trend over the selected period.
  • Engagement Quality — a weighted score that values shares over saves over comments over likes, matching Instagram's 2026 ranking signals.
  • Format Breakdown — how images, videos/reels and carousels each perform for you.
  • Reels Performance — views, average views and views-per-reach for your reels.
  • Content Patterns — your best-performing post hour, day, format, caption length and hashtag count.
  • Story Analytics — a rolling 14-day insight window covering story reach, replies, profile visits and follow conversion.
  • Reach Quality — follower vs non-follower reach, plus a virality ratio.
  • Discoverability — a reach → profile-visits → follows funnel that shows how new content turns strangers into followers.
  • Top Performing Posts — your strongest recent content, ranked.

Audience make-up, timing and comment mood have their own home in Audience, sentiment & timing, and recommendation-style guidance lives in Smart Insights.

All figures reflect the data Instagram exposes for your account, so what's shown can vary depending on your account type and history.

Media Kits

Build a professional media kit that stays up to date with your latest numbers — no more re-exporting screenshots before every pitch. When you're ready, toggle it public to get a shareable link you can send to brands and agencies.

  • Headline stats — followers, reach and engagement at a glance.
  • Audience breakdown by age, gender and location.
  • Sample content and your contact details.
  • A public link anyone can open — no login required for viewers.

Turn the public toggle off any time to take the kit offline.

Reports

Turn a campaign or a time period into a shareable performance report. It's the clean way to prove results after a sponsored post — the brand opens a public link and sees the numbers without needing an account.

  • Summarize campaign performance for a specific period or set of posts.
  • Share via a public link, or keep it private until it's ready.
  • Great for proving deliverables and closing repeat collaborations.

Brand Outreach CRM

Manage collaborations end to end, so nothing slips through the cracks between the first DM and the paid invoice. Every inbound deal lands in a pipeline you move forward one stage at a time.

  • Leads pipeline — track brands from first contact through to a closed deal, moving each lead across stages as the conversation progresses.
  • Notes & unread badge — keep the context on every lead in one place, and see at a glance when a deal has something new that needs your attention.

Pricing, sponsorship tracking and the service catalogue that feed your outreach live alongside the CRM in Monetization.

Growth & engagement tools

Beyond the numbers, Oktio gives you a toolkit to grow your audience and turn engagement into real moments with your community.

Comment Giveaways — Random Picker

The Random Picker runs fair, transparent giveaways straight from a post's comments. Point it at any of your posts and it pulls in every comment, then draws a single winner or several at random — perfect for "comment to win" campaigns where everyone can see the draw was honest. You can tighten the pool before you draw: require a keyword so only on-topic comments qualify, set an entry window so only comments left inside a time range are eligible, and switch on unique users only so each person counts once no matter how many times they commented. Draw again for runner-ups, or pick multiple winners at once.

The Random Picker is free to use, with the Free plan capped at 15 draws. Oktio Pro raises the limit so you can run giveaways as often as you like.

Winner Reveal Videos

Turn any giveaway draw into a high-energy animated winner-reveal video you can post to build hype. Rendering runs in the background: you kick off the job, watch a live preview, and it's tracked in a global video queue with a badge in the navbar so you always know when it's ready. Finished videos wait for you in your gallery, ready to download and share. Video rendering is free, with a per-plan quota.

Publish Winner to Story

Once you've drawn a winner, push the result straight to your Instagram Story as a ready-made announcement image — no design work, no exporting. It's the fastest way to close the loop with your community. Free to use.

Automations (Auto-Reply) PRO

Set up Instagram auto-reply rules that respond automatically to comments or DMs on the posts you choose. A guided editor walks you through it — an overview of your rules, then select the post the rule applies to, then configure the response — with an AI-assist check to sanity-test your wording and a dry-run preview so you see exactly what would happen before anything goes live. Automations are part of Oktio Pro.

Bio Link

Give your followers a single link-in-bio page that you edit right inside Oktio. It's served publicly at /l/{slug}, supports multiple languages so international audiences see the right content, and tracks clicks so you can tell what your audience actually taps. Free to use.

Audience, sentiment & timing

Know who your audience is, when they're paying attention, and how they feel about what you post.

  • Audience Demographics & Geo Map — your followers broken down by country, city, age and gender, plotted on an interactive world map. Free.
  • Followers Online (day & hour) — heat-style charts of exactly when your audience is online, so you can schedule posts for peak attention. Free.
  • Comment Sentiment / Mood PRO — analyzes the comments on your content and sorts their tone into positive, neutral and negative, with an overall mood score across a window you set. It shows a "collecting data" state until enough comments are in. Part of Oktio Pro.
  • Weather Context & Correlation — the ambient weather for your top audience cities, plus a correlation view that buckets the last 90 days of your posts by the weather at the moment they went live and shows each condition's engagement delta against your baseline (a bucket needs at least 3 posts to count). Free.

Smart Insights & AI signals

Smart Insights turn your raw numbers into recommendations — what to post, when, and what's about to move your audience — all grounded in your own account data.

Smart Insights

A deck of recommendation cards built from your account: your recommended posting time, the engagement mix that works for you, which content type to lean into, backup posting slots and more. Free accounts get teaser cards so you can see what's on offer; the full, unlocked insights are part of Oktio Pro, unlocked per insight.

Event Competition Radar (Attention Radar)

The flagship Smart Insight. The Attention Radar is a rolling timeline of upcoming public moments — movie and TV premieres, sports fixtures, cultural events — that compete for your audience's attention. Each event is tagged tailwind, headwind or neutral so you can ride the moments that lift you and avoid posting into a headwind. It's sourced from live event data such as TMDB and YouTube.

Hashtag Intelligence PRO

Sorts the hashtags you actually use into top performers, diminishing returns and hidden gems, based on the reach each one earns you — so you can drop the dead weight and double down on what's working. Part of Oktio Pro.

Growth Goals

Three editable 30-day goals — engagement rate, average reach and follower growth — pre-seeded from industry benchmarks so you start with a sensible target. Live progress bands show whether you're on track, approaching, behind or off track. Free to use.

Monetization

Oktio helps you price your work, prove your paid results and package what you sell — the money side of creating, working hand in hand with the Brand Outreach CRM.

  • Rate Card — a suggested price for each deliverable, auto-calculated from your follower count, engagement tier and top audience country, so you walk into pricing conversations with a defensible number. It embeds straight into your media kit. Free.
  • Sponsored Post Tracker — automatically detects your paid-partnership posts across the last 90 days and shows the reach uplift each one earned versus your organic baseline, so you can prove a campaign worked. Free.
  • Brand Leads CRM — the pipeline for inbound deals, with notes on every lead and an unread badge when something needs attention. Covered in full under Brand Outreach CRM. Free.
  • Service Catalog — a reusable list of the deliverables you offer, which feeds both your media kit and your rate card so everything stays consistent. Free.

Account & platform

The essentials that sit under everything else — how you sign in, how your data stays current, and how you stay in control.

  • Instagram-only login. You sign in with Instagram through OAuth, and your access token is encrypted at rest.
  • On-demand refresh. Pull the latest data whenever you want with a manual refresh.
  • Automatic sync. Oktio keeps itself current in the background — media and insights sync concurrently, Stories roughly every 3 hours, and your token is refreshed automatically before it expires.
  • GDPR account deletion. One action deletes your account and cascades across your media kits, bio link, automations and reports.
  • Full localization. The app — including public pages — is available in English, Czech, Slovak, Polish and German.
  • Billing you control. Payments run through Stripe, with a self-serve customer portal and invoices.

Connect to Claude (MCP) PRO

MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude securely connect to external tools and data. Oktio ships an MCP server, so once you connect it, Claude can read your analytics and help you manage your account using your real Oktio data.

Full MCP access is part of Oktio Pro. Free accounts get a preview — an account overview and your last-7-days KPIs — so you can try it before upgrading.

1 · Add the custom connector in Claude

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Give it a name (for example, Oktio) and paste the connector URL below.

# Claude → Settings → Connectors → # "Add custom connector" Name Oktio URL https://api.oktio.app/v1/mcp-server
https://api.oktio.app/v1/mcp-server

2 · Sign in and approve access

When you add the connector, Claude opens Oktio to sign in with Instagram and approve access using secure OAuth. You decide what Claude may do:

  • Read — lets Claude see your analytics, media-kit and report data.
  • Write (optional) — lets Claude help create or update things, such as drafts. You can decline the write scope and still use all the read features.

You approve exactly what Claude can access, and nothing happens without your consent.

3 · Start asking

Once connected, Claude can work with your live Oktio data. Try prompts like:

"How did my last 30 days perform?"
"Draft outreach to a brand."
"Show my media kit stats."

You can revoke Claude's access at any time — remove the Oktio connector in Claude's settings, or disconnect from Oktio. See the FAQ for more.

Data export PRO

Data export lets you continuously copy the Instagram data Oktio collects into your own data warehouse or storage, so you can build custom dashboards, join it with other sources and keep a full history you own. Pick the destination that fits your stack — Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage or Amazon S3 — and you can run several exports side by side (e.g. BigQuery for analytics and S3 for a raw backup).

Setting it up

Open Data export. Go to the Data export section in the app and create a new export, then choose a destination technology.

Connect your destination. For BigQuery or Cloud Storage, paste a Google Cloud service-account key; for S3, enter your access key and secret. Credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown again. Use Test connection to verify access before your first run.

Pick your data and run. Choose which datasets to export, then let it run automatically each day — or trigger it on demand with Run now.

What you can export

  • Analytics & profile. Account and follower KPIs, posts, reels and stories with their per-media metrics.
  • Audience. Demographics by country, city, age and gender, plus when your followers are online.
  • Comments & sentiment. Your comments with the computed sentiment breakdown.
  • Reports. Your campaign reports.
  • Messages (webhook events). Optional, off by default — turning it on requires an explicit acknowledgement because it can include third-party message content, which carries its own compliance responsibilities.

In BigQuery, data lands in day-partitioned tables prefixed oktio_, so each run adds a fresh dated snapshot and your warehouse becomes the long-term history layer. In Cloud Storage and S3, each run writes newline-delimited JSON (NDJSON) files under export_date=YYYY-MM-DD/, one per dataset — ready to load into a warehouse or query as an external table.

Grant the right permissions for your destination: BigQuery needs BigQuery Job User (project) + BigQuery Data Editor (dataset); Cloud Storage needs Storage Object Admin on the bucket; S3 needs s3:PutObject on the bucket. If a run reports a permission error, Test connection tells you exactly what's missing.

FAQ

Which Instagram account type do I need?

A Business or Creator account. Instagram's insights API doesn't provide analytics for personal accounts, so you'll need to switch to Business or Creator (it's free) in the Instagram app before connecting.

Is my data safe?

Oktio connects through Instagram's official API using OAuth, and only requests the permissions it needs to show your analytics. You stay in control and can disconnect at any time.

Can I revoke Claude's access?

Yes. Remove the Oktio connector in Claude's settings, or disconnect from Oktio. Claude's access is tied to the consent you granted, so revoking it stops further access.

What can Claude actually do with my account?

It depends on the scopes you approve. With the read scope, Claude can see your analytics, media-kit and report data. With the optional write scope, it can help create or update items such as drafts. You choose which scopes to grant, and you can grant read only.

Which languages is Oktio available in?

The Oktio app interface is available in English, Czech, Slovak, Polish and German. These docs are currently English-only.

What does the free MCP preview include?

An account overview and your last-7-days KPIs, so you can see how the Claude connection works. Full history and actions are part of Oktio Pro.
